Examples of 2 Magazine Adverts

Gwen Steffani- Love Angel Music Baby

This Gwen Steffani magazine advert is good as it contains many of the conventions used in an advert. Firstly the picture on the advert is the same one that is on the album cover so it is very recognisable to the audience. Also the Artists name is large and stands out, which is also a main focus of the advert to the audience. Underneath the artists name is also the Album name and two selected recognisable tracks from the CD. All this information is written in the same font, which is also the one that Gwen Steffani uses in most of her music video. At the very bottom of the advert is the Record Label logo and also a website of the artist to find out more information. Finally, for people who may be interested in buying the album it shows that the album is available in stores now.

All Time Low- Put up or Shut up

This All Time Low magazine advert is good as it contains many conventions that are used in most music adverts. Firstly in large letters at the very top of the advert is the bands name and Album title. Secondly, the advertisement also has ratings of the album from Kerrang!, Rock Sound and All music. As these rating are good, it may make people want the album more as others have enjoyed it so much. At the very bottom of the Advertisement and very small is the Record Label logo, which doesn’t attract the audience to it, so they are putting all of there interest in the actual album and not other albums that the record label may have made. The advertisement also contains information about what is in the digipak e.g. A DVD showing live footage. Finally it shows to anyone interested that it is released on November 30th. Unlike the Gwen Steffani Advert, this advert doesn’t have the album cover used as a background image, meaning the audience may not know what sort pf cover to look out for, to know its the album they want off the shelf.
